How many Spiderman movie series are there now . . . four, five? Lot’s and one thing all of them need is a brand new origin story. Why? Because humans seem to love origin stories. Hey, Jesus got two of them and that’s just counting the canonical ones.
So, I’m not surprised that people desire stories about how everything started. I myself wasted much of my teenage youth studying the origin myths of Genesis creation as well as Evolution. I know many just got triggered. I can imagine people saying “Evolution is a fact — not a myth”.
Well, let’s test that. Science facts can be tested and experiments replicated. Ok, take some chimpanzees and start their evolutionary process, one step at a time into a human. In fact, just make all the changes showing the various stages of evolutionary progress in one go with a hundred chimpanzees and in a little over a decade we’ll have mature specimens of chimpanzees showing the evolution all the way to human. That will be very convincing.
“We can’t do that! Evolution takes millions of years to happen!”
Ok, so you admit Evolution’s primary claims are completely untested as well as being untestable.
“No! We got a fruit fly to evolve into another species of fruit fly!”
But that’s not your primary claim, is it. Let’s look at the other way to test a science fact — prediction. Did the Evolution fact which supposedly has been around since Darwin predict anything which has happened? Covid-19 completely blindsided us. AIDS was rampaging through the homosexuals for years before the Evolutionists even knew it was there. Why didn’t Richard Dawkins use the predictive abilities of Evolution to stop AIDS before it even happened? Did Richard Dawkins want those homosexuals to die?
“That’s not what Evolution predicts!”
You’re right! Evolution doesn’t predict anything which is testable. It’s as useless as the Biblical creation. And now I’m reminded of the time a biology lecturer claimed I was at fault Evolution was not proved because I hadn’t invented a time machine yet.
“Evolution has tons of evidence supporting it!”
No. Evolutionists, especially Darwin, have taken all the information they know about the world and made up a creation myth which fits what they currently know about the world. I must admit Evolution is a very intriguing myth – but that’s all it is. Science can be replicated, tested, and used to make predictions. Evolutionists like Dawkins consider Evolution to be the grand unification theorem of biology but it fails every test of science. Evolution gives people the false illusion that everything is understood when almost nothing is understood.
A false illusion that everything is understood hinders science.
Evolution generally survives debate because it’s continually debated in comparison to the Biblical creation. Yeah, we know a whole lot more about the world now than they did thousands of years ago. The Evolution myth is far more complicated, interesting, and far more closely matches what we currently know about the world. It’s still a myth.
Skeptics don’t need an origin story.
